NEW YEAR, NEW YOU
Hi everyone, I ought to have done this post earlier but hope its not late to say happy New Year.
It's sure going to be an awesome year. I am excited about all that it has to offer and I believe the new year presents us an opportunity to BE and DO better. So, let's get off our backs and seize this opportunity, start something new and different, take up a new course or training, change that bad habit, exercise more, drink more water, say no to junk and yes to fruits and the list goes on and on....
I have started working on my own list and I hope I will pull through. Wishing you all the best, happy 2013, cheers.

DO I NEED A MAKEUP ARTIST ?
You are looking forward to your wedding day and thinking
about your wedding gown, shoes, accessories, cake, décor, event venue, food etc.
With all there is to do for your big day,
your makeup might be the last thing on your mind. Well, maybe not the last
thing, but very close. Some brides wonder, “Why do I need a makeup artist for
my wedding day?” Here are some reasons why you should definitely get a
professional makeup artist for your big day.
- Quality products- A professional makeup artist has a good idea of fabulous long lasting makeup products which will ensure you look your most beautiful. These products include primers, waterproof mascara, blush and several eye color options to choose from.
- Picture perfect – a professional makeup artist understands that people will look at the photos long after the wedding therefore, the type of makeup, texture and amount needed to look picture perfect is highly put into consideration so you don’t look washed out in pictures.
- Trial makeup – the goal of makeup is to make you look like yourself, but look your best. During a trial makeup, your artist will design a look that complements your features and overall appearance making sure you feel comfortable and confident with your look.
- Bridal pampering- it probably isn’t everyday that you get to enjoy this kind of pampering, so relax, take the stress off you, and enjoy the experience.
Your wedding day is one of the most memorable
days of your life. It is your beautiful face people are going to be starring at
all day, its best to leave a lasting impression. So hurry, call a professional
makeup artist to have the look of your dreams.

BEYOND SKINCARE PRODUCTS
I usually get calls from people asking me what products to
use to have a flawless looking face but I’m not too quick to mention products. I
am not a dermatologist, but with my knowledge of basic skincare, a beautiful
skin usually begins with a healthy lifestyle and a healthy skin is the basis of
pure, natural beauty. While heredity may determine how your skin looks, behaves
and ages, you can improve it by taking good care of it. Here are some tips
- Nourish your skin- feed your skin with the vitamins and nutrients it needs by practicing healthy eating habits. Your diet should include fresh fruits and vegetables that are rich in minerals, Vitamin A and C such as carrots, sweet potatoes, melons, pepper, strawberries, oranges, cucumbers, leafy vegetables, nuts, yogurt, fish, and beans.
“Your diet
has a direct impact on not only your overall health and how you feel, but also
on how you look”. – Bobbi Brown.
- Hydrate your skin- drink about 8-10 glasses of water daily to help flush out toxins and keep skin clear. Also apply face moisturizer once or twice daily.
- Exercise- many find this difficult especially in this environment, but just 20-30 minutes of exercise daily will help boost your immune system, shed some kilogram and decrease your risk for disease.
- Sleep- sleep helps to relax your body cells and rejuvenate itself. Poor sleep habits can cause dark, saggy bags under the eyes, stress leading to blocked pores and acne.
- Don’t pick your skin- as tempting as this is, don’t pick or pop your pimples. Picking can lead to infection and you can traumatize your skin causing more breakouts.
Skincare products are great, but it is your daily routine
that will really make the difference.

PUT YOUR BEST FACE FORWARD
| Courtesy PAK Fashion |
Do you have a facial feature that makes you feel
less beautiful? Ease off and stop being hard on yourself. Rather than worry
about your less desirable features, focus on your best features while using
makeup to enhance and make the most of it.
If Eyes: line your eyes, it’s the most effective way
to draw attention to them. Apply liner (pencil or liquid) into the base of your
lashes especially along the top lash line. It should be thick enough to be
visible when your eyes are wide open.
If brows: shape brows, it can lift and open your
eyes, making you look alert and well rested. Tweeze hair and finish with a brow
gel or powder or fill in with a brow pencil.
If Cheeks: apply blush to the apple of the cheek
then blend up and back towards the hairline. Be sure to smile when applying it.
Smiling is the best way to find the apples of your cheeks which is where we all
naturally blush.
If Lips: For the most natural-looking lipstick,
choose a shade close to your own lip color, just glossier and slightly deeper. Putting
on lipstick straight from the tube will not blend your lip liner. You should
always use a brush to blend your lip liner toward the center of the lips.
Every woman is beautiful, by identifying your most
striking features and accentuating them, you can look and feel more beautiful.
